Dr. Jennifer Chambers(Harrisburg, PA) November 5, 2021 — On November 4, 2021, Keystone Human Services (KHS) honored Dr. Jennifer Chambers with the Edna Silberman Humanitarian Award at the 49th Annual Meeting of the Membership. Dr. Chambers is a board-certified physician in internal medicine and hospice and palliative medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. She is Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for Capital Blue Cross, a health solutions company headquartered in central PA and the Lehigh Valley.

Dr. Chambers has served in a governance role with KHS since 2005. She has brought her intellect, compassion, and skill to multiple corporate boards of the KHS, and served as Board Chair for the KHS Board from 2017-2021, a time of significant growth and change. “Dr. Chambers is an invaluable board member for KHS,” says KHS President and CEO, Charles J.  Hooker, “but that’s not why we chose to honor her with this award. The Edna Silberman Humanitarian Award is given to someone who has made a significant contribution toward making KHS’s vision of inclusion real in the lives of others. Jennifer Chambers has championed inclusion in her professional and private life for decades, and is a stellar example of someone who quietly but insistently changes the world for the better.”

“I am proud to be part of handing this award to Dr. Chambers,” said Terri Slocomb, KHS Board Chair. “She is a leader in every way, and brings out the best in everyone around her. Congratulations, Dr. Chambers.”
