Technology has served as a primary connector for so many of us during the COVID-19 pandemic. Without it, the isolation, social distance, and inactivity may have had even more devastating impacts than what we did experience. While in some ways the pandemic did offer a somewhat urgent call to assist vulnerable people to access and use technology as well, the chasm in technological accessibility for devalued people is still vast and navigating its usage in ways that go beyond service mediation and convenience and truly reflect culturally valued means, is still a stretch. The impact can often be increased isolation, loneliness, and distancing for vulnerable people. Join Vicki Shaw, Information Security Director and Kim Riegel, Clinical Specialist in Intellectual Disability Services for an exploration of how we can capitalize on the benefits of technology in concert with the principles and themes of SRV to help people gain access to some of the good things of life.
