Join Hope Leet Dittmeier and Charlotte Knight to explore the potential of Social Role Valorization (SRV), when well applied, to help societally devalued people to gain greater access to the good things of life. This session examines what it takes to craft an SRV mindset for coherent and courageous leadership, radical change strategies, and innovative service design. Drawing on the evidence from Mattingly Edge’s transition from a traditional congregated day program to a provider of highly customized one-on-one supports, as well as leadership development strategies from Ireland, this session will offer analysis and enquiry into what it takes to embrace SRV concepts through organizational transformation.
Those who attend this session are requested to view the Mattingly Edge website at www.mattinglyedge.org to see how they support people to spend their time, not in day services or specialized programs, but instead working, volunteering, attending school, exercising, socializing, performing personal and household tasks, and investing in other responsible engagements.
