Customized Employment Gathering (By Invitation Only)

Authentic work brings a richness and fullness to our lives in so many ways. Employment has largely been unavailable to people with significant intellectual and developmental disabilities or mental health issues. New ideas and new thinking are helping us learn to make room for people with disability in the workforce, and this is an exciting area where change is brewing.

Many of us from across India participated in the Certificate Course in Applied Customized Employment to explore one such idea – Customized Employment – as a promising pathway to employment for individuals with significant impact of disability. While most of us earned a MG&A certification in Discovery, some of us are doggedly working toward it. With or without certification, most of us are committed to applying our learning to find suitable employment for the people we serve.

The Customized Employment gathering seeks to draw together all those who are using the strategies learnt in the certificate course, to share our experiences, struggles, insights, challenges, and successes. With the intent to create a supportive community of CE specialists, this event strives to develop a circle of hope and support for each other and for the individuals we serve.
