Dr. Kristine Koontz brings over 25 years of experience in behavioral and physical health systems to her role at Keystone Human Services. As Vice President of Quality, Dr. Koontz is responsible for oversight and supervision of critical quality across the organization. In addition to her passion for quality management, innovation, and support of evidence-based clinical practices, Kristine has special interest in the areas of behavioral medicine, the translation and application of proven quality management methodologies into clinical contexts, and the development of administrative structures that streamline operational processes, inform and support clinical activities, and evaluate outcomes.
Prior to joining Keystone in September 2005, Dr. Koontz worked in a private practice evaluating the efficacy of community-based intervention programs. She conducted forensic psychological evaluations for the Office of Children and Youth and provided expert testimony for court cases. Before coming to Central Pennsylvania, Dr. Koontz was on staff at the Kennedy Krieger Institute and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, serving as a consultant in pediatric psychology services and also as the Scientific Administrator of an NIH-funded Neurobehavioral Research unit dedicated to serving children and adults with severe neurobehavioral disorders. Dr. Koontz earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Kalamazoo College, a master’s and doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Cincinnati, and completed her pre- and post-doctoral fellowships at the Kennedy Krieger Institute and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
